Business ExperienceIn 1994, after working in Philadelphia for a few years after college, I returned to Vermont. I started up Catamount Software to work on software for Apple's Newton®. I work at home now, in Grand Isle, developing computer software for Palm OS and PocketPC handheld computers. My best-selling software title is PocketMoney®, and it is available "off the shelf" in retail stores such as Staples and BestBuy across the country. I have over 20,000 customers in over 70 countries and my programs have been translated in more than ten languages, from Spanish to Chinese. I have been fortunate to be able to collaborate on various projects with other Vermont software companies, such as Jarosoft in Essex Jct., Green Mountain Software in Colchester, and The Headwaters in Monkton, as well as companies and individuals from all parts of the world. I was a software developer for Green Mountain Software (1995-1998) I developed software for for doctors, home health care organizations, emergency medical systems, an air quality monitoring system, laser measurement systems, TV and film production, and business automation systems.
As computer engineer for the Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station (1988-1994) I developed software for the station's financial workload planning system, developed damage control monitoring software for ships, developed software to find wiring problems in elevators, and was the station's Macintosh expert. In 1990 I received the Navy's co-op student of the year award for my work on the financial planning system. |
