It is nothing better for a homeowner than to see the fruits of their labor as they work on their home projects. While home improvement is probably one of the things that gets the most or the least attention for a homeowner, it certainly can be a positive thing.

We have had our home for about 5 years now, and some things have been bothering me for some time ever since the purchase. We felt that a little home remodeling needed to take place for us to really enjoy every room of the house.

One of the first things that we decided to do was get rid of the nasty wallpaper that has filled the walls of the bathroom for years now. Wallpaper is not a favorite of mine, and instead we will just be painting the walls a solid color.

The next thing that we wanted to do was improve the dining area. We have some old blinds, and thought it would be a nice touch for guests to enjoy some new shutters. So we decided to order some plantation shutters for that room, while the rest of the rooms will receive upgrades on blinds.

While all the touches of home improvement seem very small, a lot of time is put forth in preparation as well as in purchasing tools and equipment to get the job done. Now I can truly say I am beat for the day.

Plastic Surgery For The Nose Is Serious

I recently had a friend who we won’t name, but she asked me what I had thought not only about her breast size, but also about her nose. She had been thinking of getting Rhinoplasty, and though that since I was close to her that she would ask me. Well of course I told her that her nose looked fine to me, and the truth was I thought it did.

The real issue was not my opinion, but her own opinion of herself. I think this is a serious health issue with women today, and I think that since the world always judges women on looks rather than what on the inside, that women will always feel that pressure. My friend who I will not name said that she felt it good to ask me after reading the Best Rhinoplasty guide website which mentioned that you should talk with friends and family about your decision. I couldn’t agree more with that statement, but more importantly, I think its important to really know for yourself whether nose surgery is just to make you feel better or actually correct your nose to look better.

I think all women out there should really consider what you do to make sure that you are happy with yourself more importantly than everyone else being happy with you.

Hockey and Breast Cancer

This month of January, two women’s hockey teams in Middlebury Vermont are going head to head for a good cause. The “Face Off Against Breast Cancer,” will be the 10th annual held which brings families and friends from all over Vermont together.

The even was established when Liz Cronin, a member of the Otters, was diagnosed with breast cancer. So this is going to be an occasion you wont want to miss if you are in or around Middlebury.

Originally the event started raising a couple hundred dollars, but has grown to be a very large occasion lasting 2 days and bringing in thousands. there will be 8 teams which will play over the 2 day course from all over Middlebury.

Vermonters should be proud of this event, and we hope that you will make the effort to attend once again.

Vermonters Health Insurance

Interestingly according to the Burlington Free Press, the rate of Vermonters that are without health insurance has gone down in recent months. This is interesting, especially considering the fact that job rates and unemployment are down. According to the survey, Some 7.6 percent of Vermonters lack health insurance, the survey found, down from 9.8 percent in 2005.

This tells us that Vermont is definitely holding its ground in the down economy. Many would like to give some praise to Peter Sterling, who as executive director of the Vermont Campaign for Health Care Security Fund has been promoting the state’s year-old Catamount Health Plan. He also was happily surprised by the decrease in the number of uninsured.

Another type of state sponsored program that has also been helping people is Catamount. The full report from the health insurance survey will be made available in January.
