Politicians have been working relentlessly to limit our personal freedom by removing personal responsibility. We must work to restore the foundation of freedom that made this country great. Personal freedom is about having the freedom to make choices about your life that should not fall under the purview of state or federal government.
One example of my efforts to restore Personal Freedom will focus on a common-sense approach to the problem of alcohol abuse in colleges and in high schools. I will push for legislation to make it legal for parents to teach responsible and safe alcohol use to their children. The lure of "forbidden fruit" is created by our failed policy of selective prohibition of adults...my administration will restore the drinking age to 18, and make the phrase "underage adult" an out-dated oxymoron. I will stop filling up our jails and clogging our courts by pardoning Vermonters arrested for marijuana offenses.
I will protect property rights, save Vermont's beautiful countrysides, and promote freedom for our farmers, so farmers can choose to grow economically viable organic hemp crops which have a profit of up to $400/acre.
I want to extend the medical marijuana law so all patients who might benefit from using cannabis medically will legally be able to do so. (Sign reform marijuana laws petition)
